50% of the Great Barrier Reef is dead. Illustrator Lucy Munt decided to take action towards helping to protect the coral reefs from destruction by creating and illustrating a book. The publication provides an opportunity for future generations to learn about the effects of human destruction on coral and how they can make a difference. The text – aimed at 6-10 year-olds – includes full colour illustrations by the artist. Coral helps humans with treatments for cancer, asthma, heart disease and arthritis. It is not only important for mankind, but for sea life as it provides food and shelter. Without coral, the human race will struggle with health treatments and oxygen, and species will become extinct.
