Abigail Jones

Filmmaker Abigail Jones’ works take on a storytelling aspect, calling upon surrealism and uncanny imagery. Inspired in part by the writing of Barbara Creed’s The Monstrous-Feminine as well as various science fiction publications, Jones attempts to reflect on our ever-growing intimate relationship with the cosmos, the fetishisation in the search for alien life and the concept of being surveyed from afar. Jones stars as a recurring character, alongside a combination of green screen and found footage, to create short works that pay homage to experimental cinema and B-movie science fiction films. Moongazing Install is a video exploration into the personification of the moon.
