Natural Living

Swedish architecture firm Tham & Videgård Arkitekter reveals its latest project: a tent-inspired house poised on a promontory that extends from the island of Krokholmen situated in Stockholm’s archipelago. The locality’s expansive views, along with a neighbouring lighthouse, have informed the design of the structure. Made entirely from timber – bar a central steel girder, concrete floors and a zinc-clad roof – the building boasts vast openings that connect the interior spaces with three terraces. Reminiscent of a summer-camping shelter, the house simultaneously creates a bold statement while existing synchronously with the natural environment.
