Cultural Assertion

The newly opened Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa collects, preserves, researches and exhibits 21st century art from Africa and its Diaspora from within its Heatherwick Studio-designed building. Its vision is to be the first major institution dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its Diaspora on the Africa Continent. Opening displays include Isaac Julien’s nine screen film installation Ten Thousand Waves and works by Wangechi Mutu and Chris Ofili.
