Rudina Shala

Rudina Shala is a third-year Interior and Spatial Design student graduating from Buckinghamshire New University. She received her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Fashion and Textiles and also Graphic Design at City of Westminster College in 2017. She has worked in placements in different fields of design such as – SLS Builders Ltd (construction), Roar Architects (architectural assistant), Space-pod commercial interiors (commercial assistant) and Mahogany Carnival (fashion assistant). Shala is interested in residential design, landscape design and she has a passion for environments that induce a sense of movement, meaning and emotion. She has also had the opportunity to compete in the British Institute of Interior Design challenge 2019, during which her team was shortlisted. Aspiring to be able to move people with her designs, she uses design elements of shape and form to create an emotional experience for the user. The final major project focused on mental health, sharing a similar view to psychologist Eric Fromm. This philosophy is centred on believing that a positive attitude towards life, nature and colour is important for imagination, productivity, mental strength to get through tough times within ourselves.
