Rohini Jones

Tranquillity explores the idea of sacred locations and rituals, presenting an intertwined relationship between mindfulness and space. The work is an acknowledgement of the idea that sacred spaces are not necessarily physical places but are a state of mind which can be accessed or evoked through sensory stimulation: sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. Tranquility can be found anywhere and is often something we search for in a world of over-stimulation. Rohini Jones is a Leeds-based photographer responding to themes of culture, race and gender. Tending to both commercial and fine art briefs, Jones’s approach to the medium is often visually stimulating. Her images offer a platform for discussion surrounding many pressing topics and asking many difficult questions.
