Richard Mackness

Geist and Domus

Domus is an exterior piece intended to be positioned in marginal urban spaces and in front of buildings. Crushed and folded surfaces derived from package forms that blow around our streets echo the drapery found in the classical world. Mackness’s work often deals with opposites; ancient / modern and worthless / priceless. Materials are important – the colour and translucency of plastic, notions of value with bronze or gold.
