Portfolio Reviewers at the Future Now Symposium 2022
These 1-1 sessions, hosted at York Theatre Royal and virtually via Zoom, were for practitioners working across all genres, including painting, photography, digital media, sculpture, video and more. Our industry experts provided essential guidance on how to develop ideas and further artists’ careers, as well as providing insights on funding opportunities and exhibition. Each session lasted 20 minutes. This was an opportunity to get key advice on any number of topics: how to accelerate your practice through digital platforms, how to approach curators and galleries, or simply discuss a particular portion of your portfolio in real time. Eleanor studied History of Art and English at the University of York, and is passionate about web design.
Griselda Goldsbrough

Griselda Goldsbrough, visual artist and writer, committed to cultural and creative activity in community engagement projects within heritage, science, musuems, galleries and healthcare. She has been involved in the Aesthetica Art Prize for several years running, championing emerging talent across all media.
Kit Monkman

Kit Monkman is a leading innovator in screen-based art and interactive media. He directed the visually experimental feature Macbeth and co-directed The Knife That Killed Me. He is also co-founder of KMA – an artistic collaboration that specialises in environmental installations – whose works have dramatically transformed public spaces across the world. Kit has worked with Prince and DV8. The work is driven by an interest in interaction.
Eliza Williams

Eliza Williams is Editor at Creative Review magazine, writing and broadcasting on art, design, advertising and music. Lottie Davies

Lottie Davies is currently based in London and Cornwall, creating work concerned with stories and personal histories. Her work has garnered international acclaim, winning First Prize at the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Awards at the National Portrait Gallery, London. Her collaboration on Dreams of Your Life with Hide & Seek/Film 4.0 was BAFTA-nominated in 2012. NPG, described Davies’ work as “brilliantly imaginative.”

She has worked on numerous projects including the Sony World Photography Awards.

Hannah Starkey’s photographs reconstruct cinematic scenes from everyday life, using actors within carefully considered settings. Starkey’s images centre around the female experience, evoking suggestive narratives through their appropriation of cultural templates: issues of class, race, gender, and identity are implied.
