Photographic duo René & Radka produce immaculately composed fashion and advertising campaigns. René Hallen, originally from Cologne, and Radka Leitmeritz, from Prague, met in Paris. The pair originally connected over a mutual love of film, which evolved into their highly cinematic photography, a result of their combined stylistic sensibilities. They place great value upon knowledge of traditional photographic techniques, lamenting the widespread over-reliance on digital editing in post-production within the industry. The duo translate their comprehensive understanding of the microelements of a shoot into hyperreal, perfectly lit images that retain a certain verve and warmth despite their professional execution. René & Radka’s imaginative, atmospheric work has reached its natural conclusion in recent, more experimental series of fine art, and they have been increasingly working in film, their original passion. www.reneradka.squarespace.com.
