Hao Fu uses photography to explore their hometown of Harbin, a small city in China. The creative process has been likened to a thought-provoking journey in which Fu has “realised that the city has transformed into a lonely, ordinary and abandoned space.” As such, the artist has gained a deeper understanding of the hidden parts of the city and works to capture changes that have occurred over time. The photographic exploration of Harbin has also motivated Fu to recall joyful memories.
