Bell’s final fashion collection comprises garments that each signify and connect with the human condition. For Bell, clothes are a way to personalise and identify with memories and experiences beyond our recognition. For her final project, she recreated childhood photos, stitching the images onto material in colourful threads which signify a certain emotion or feeling. Almost synesthetic in their realisation, they stimulate sight and hearing through accessing and projecting the outlines of memory, creating a kind of timeline in the fabric of our outer appearance and dress. In addition to this, Bell wanted to take inspiration from sensory toys, raising awareness of accessibility and disability through multi-disciplinary clothes.
