Based in Jakarta, Fikri Amanda Abubakar is a designer crafting endless utopias in which open windows, mirrors and empty rooms are diffused by pastel sunsets.

For Abubakar, dreams are a central point of reference: worlds full of possibility, stasis, sadness – a longing to be free.

Envisioning this, Abubakar’s images nestle into peripheries – living in the corners or on the edge of existence, behind ledges and staring outwards into a beautiful, fragile yet blank abyss.
