How Salty is the Mediterranean? examines themes of home, nostalgia, loss and memory. The main focus of Daryl Pallas’ latest work is the exploration and rediscovery of the places and spaces he knew growing up in Gibraltar. Pallas explores the different ideologies of growing up in a small territory, where people are often told that their hopes and dreams will only be answered if they leave their home. The photographs observe these ideas and highlight particular areas of Gibraltar, exposing the true beauty of the photographer’s home.
