Contemporary Living

In 2018’s complex socio-political environment, the notion of home is especially poignant. Asking questions about its meaning, Aperture Foundation’s At Home: In the American West follows the journey of photographers – including Ahndraya Parlato and Gregory Halpern, Texas Isaiah, Pixy Liao, Ricardo Nagaoka, Irina Rozovsky and Mark Steinmetz – who travelled through ten US states to meet and document individuals in their surroundings.

In collaboration with California Sunday Magazine, the project sheds light on the diversity of human experience – from those living in dream mansions to others settling in their first homes. A powerful selection which is critical, reflective and thought-provoking, the collection of images asks audiences to redefine perceptions whilst shedding light on wider social issues.

The exhibitions runs 6 December-4 January. Find out more here.
