Can Shui is a Chinese visual artist and educator. Greeting From Strangers comprises twelve photographs, each recording a month in one year. In the series, photography combines with other materials: collage, design, painting and documentary. The calendar-like artwork explores how people often use a different face to deal with their family, friends, colleagues, parents, even enemies. It reveals the contradiction, pretence, vanity, hypocrisy and neuroses of human beings.
Touch Me Not is an ongoing exploration of the lack of touch and intimacy between couples who were kept apart during the lockdown.
