A Scientific Influence

A Scientific Influence

Born in rural Hereford, Luke Evans discovered photography through a long-term interest in physics and organic sciences – which has later fed into deeply experimental and calculative images.

Now represented by Wren London, Evans balances individual elements from the environment with minimal compositions, utilising unlikely surfaces and materials to create a habitat that is unidentifiable, yet aesthetically pleasing.

Evans’s Second Nature series continues to investigate the landscape, as established in his previous series, Forge. The images look at the notion of truth in photography, and how images draw a line between what we see as natural or unnatural.
