Future Now Symposium 2026
16 July | York St John University
Debate | Discuss | Connect #FutureNow2026
Future Now is a national platform for vision, action and collaboration across art, culture, heritage and the creative industries. On 16 July, Aesthetica will bring together leading voices from art, design, film, publishing and digital innovation. The creative industries contribute over £145 billion to the UK economy and is growing four times faster than any other part of the economy. At Future Now, the focus is on real pathways and solutions. What will the future of curation look like in a digital world? How can artists build sustainable careers in today’s economy? What investment, infrastructure and education are needed to support talent on a national and international scale?
These are the questions that will drive the day. The programme will include powerful conversations and panel discussions with some of the most innovative voices working today, including Aesthetica Art Prize-alumnus Squidsoup and multi-disciplinary artist and designer Jason Bruges, who will share insights into collaborative practice, community-driven design and cultural innovation. Artists will be able to access 1–1 Portfolio Reviews with industry leaders — curators, publishers, commissioners and directors who can provide feedback and open doors. Future Now is about creating space for talent to be seen, supported and empowered.
Tickets will also include exclusive access to the Private View of the Aesthetica Art Prize 2026. The exhibition will explore how artists are responding to the defining issues of our time — from climate crisis to digital acceleration. The work will be bold, experimental and deeply engaged with the world. Future Now is where ideas come to life.
