Zheng Fang

Zheng Fang’s work is about indifference to history. The photographer shot in a place in Western China called Oil Town. Now, it’s just ruins in the desert. The town has disappeared from the map of China; the history has been forgotten. Most of the comments Zheng Fang saw from tourists on the internet didn’t understand the real history of the town, they just knew of it from cinema. The purpose of their visit was to take pictures and post them on the social media. The artist’s intention is to reflect young people’s indifference under the influence of various entertainment industries.
