Holding a doctorate degree in Fine Art, Donghwan Ko lives and works between London and Seoul, exploring notions of home and the spaces inbetween. Investigating the boundaries of privacy and intimacy, the works are complex, offering temporary depictions of domesticity.
He notes: “For me, home is a temporary space that requires settlement and adaptation, ultimately becoming a cardinal site for one’s privacy and intimacy; it is however paradoxically complex, limited, temporary, divided and empty.”
Ko has participated in numerous exhibitions and residencies in UK, Germany, Portugal and South Korea.
