Universal Sentiments

Universal Sentiments

London Design Biennale 2018 is now open at Somerset House, London, offering international interpretations of the theme Emotional States. This year’s edition sees 40 countries, cities and territories showcase exciting and ambitious projects, celebrating the universal power of design.

Featured here is Flynn Talbot’s Full Spectrum. Representing Australia, the rainbow-coloured installation captures the emotions associated with the country’s 2017 legalisation of same-sex marriage. The 150 strands of fibre-optic light provide an immersive experience, encouraging interaction.

The event offers dialogues between design and social needs, facilitating responsive solutions and politcally-engaged works.

London Design Biennale runs until 23 September. Find out more here.
