London’s largest artist-led fair returns for its fifth edition at London’s primary destination for creative events, The Old Truman Brewery. Connecting art lovers across genres, tastes and locations, The Other Art Fair draws together some of the most talented emerging and unrepresented artists under one roof to showcase the best in independent art.
Unique in its approach, the fair uses a selection committee of industry experts to thoughtfully handpick the participating artists. Those involved in the panel include four eminent figures across the international art world including Artist and Turner Prize nominee Yinka Shonibare MBE, senior curator at the National Gallery David Jaffe, Director of the Saatchi Gallery, Rebecca Wilson and Founder and Director of Paradise Row, Nick Hackworth.
Alongside the opportunity to purchase some of the most striking contemporary works from just £50, The Other Art Fair relishes in offering an artistic experience beyond sales, featuring art talks, 3D printing, taxidermy workshops and art and music performances. There’s also plenty to keep younger art lovers entertained with a kid’s create area. Away from the exhibition, visitors can find a quiet retreat in a bookstore from leading art book publishers, Phaidon, allowing fans to flick through the very best publications of this quirky and historic art form.
Set to attract over 10,000 visitors, including buyers, collectors, journalists and gallerists, this year’s fair is also joined for the first time by the Moniker Art Fair, an another art fair with its roots embedded in urban culture, which is bound to set the cogs of discussion, debate and collaboration right into motion.
