Jo Kalinowski is inspired by connections of identity. With British urban roots, she now lives in rural Australia, and as such, has found herself exploring the spaces between manmade and natural landscapes through minimal photography – where abstraction provides a link between the two.
Lost behind the lens, the artist seeks out scenery as a means of expression, from five-acre gum trees to vast and anonymous pastel walls.
Kalinowski is part of a global community of minimal photographers – using Instagram as a tool for inspiration, being part of an international group of artists looking to share experiences from the everyday.
