Miriam Manca

Manca’s work is inspired by functionality in the everyday and sustainable design ethics. Through a variety of different materials, she makes products which aim to improve the lives of others whilst focusing on simplistic lines and aesthetically pleasing forms. As well as this, each of Manca’s products is easy to use and clearly presents its purpose to the user – intuitive by design. Her final project demonstrates a use of multiple methods and styles, resulting in Urban De-Binner. With living moss walls, it helps provide greenery to urban city streets, contributing to the cleaning of pollution through an injection of plant-generated oxygen. This eco-inspired storage unit is designed to safely and neatly conceal bins to help keep residential city roads clean whilst contributing to slick, contemporary design.
