Major retrospective Sally Mann: A Thousand Crossings travels to the Getty Center, Los Angeles, offering dialogues between the photographer and the American South. An exploration of identity, the show brings together a selection of ethereal and haunting works that use experimental techniques to investigate themes of family, mortality and the landscape.
Retelling personal, universal and historical narratives, the images offer a timeless reflection on ideas of selfhood, race and religion, demonstrating a signature style and delving into the American consciousness.
The exhibition runs 16 November-10 February. Find out more here.
