This Easter Visit the Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition

Showcasing outstanding and innovative artworks, the Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition features shortlisted pieces from artists in the following categories: Photographic and Digital; Three Dimensional Design and Sculpture; Painting and Drawing, and Video, Installation and Performance.

The medieval backdrop of York St Mary’s provides an exceptional setting for discovery and engagement, inspiring conversation between the historic and the contemporary. Light installations, artists’ film and performance videos are nestled amongst historic architecture. The show also offers a multi-sensory experience, with two of the works emitting sounds, one of which invites the audience to play its strings as a reformed musical instrument.

Artists from diverse locations including Chile, Italy, Germany, New Zealand and across the UK are represented and the works of a further 92 artists who were longlisted are also presented within the gallery on monitors. This offers visitors the opportunity to experience the international breadth of the work and appreciate its diversity.

The Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition is open daily 10am – 5pm across the Easter weekend and is free to attend. For more information visit www.aestheticamagazine.com/art-prize-exhibition and www.yorkstmarys.org.uk.
