In 2020, we’re constantly plugged in. Phones buzz through the night and the blue light from our devices means we’re never truly switched off. Connor Wall’s final project, Mundbyrdan, is designed to improve sleeping habits whilst protecting the user from signals released by phones and computers. Copper mesh surrounds the bed frame, stopping the signals from accessing smartphones. Wall provides a complete, isolated pod that tackles the age of over-stimulation and information overload. Wall’s entire practice is addresses the impacts of contemporary society on the body and the mind; new technologies are increasingly affecting our daily lives as we transition from day to night, work to home.
