Art Monaco this Weekend

Uniting international art under one roof, Art Monaco opens today. Offering more flexibility to their audiences they present a show in Barranquilla, Columbia simultaneously and launch a digital event online. For its fourth edition, Art Monaco hosts a special four day event in The Grimaldi Forum, one of the most prestigious convention centres in Europe. Adding to the wonderful venue itself, the event exhibits some of the most sought out and distinctive pieces of art, undoubtedly complimented by the beauty and breathtaking scenes that the Principality of Monaco is so well known for.

The official launch ran at Pablo Picasso’s studio in Paris on 11 April, where the latest edition of AM Magazine and the pristine Barranquillarte magazine were launched. Within the event there was a live painting performance by famed artist Ghass. Other special guests included Empress Rincones as well as a descendent of Picasso himself, Olivier Picasso.

Today sees the launch of a VIP reception, allowing important collectors and buyers to peruse and purchase more than 4,500 pieces of art from across the world. Following the opening there will be three full days of exhibits available to a selective public. With an impressive programme, visitors can expect to not only enjoy a premiere setting but an outstanding selection of art.

An exposition of modern and contemporary art, Art Monaco showcases a variety of styles such as painting, sculpture, photography, drawing and digital art. One of the new special features of the fair, for the first time, will be recreated in a digital world. By creating your own avatar in an art show in a massive virtual community known as Second Life, the visitor may explore the shows in Monaco and Columbia, now and for an entire year.

With an international presentation, some of the galleries involved are Tanya Baxter Contemporary Art Gallery (London), GRK Gallery (Paris), Nina Fina Art Gallery (Miami), Rudolf Budja Galerie (Vienna) and Galerie Brésil (São Paulo). The artworks on display and for sale will be from world re-known artists, including Picasso, Damian Hirst, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Pablo Picasso, Miro and Steve Kaufman. Plus works from emerging artists such as Park Dae Cho, Jorge Iglesias, Ghass, Teodora Axente, Dan Beudean and Adriana Varella, besides many others.

In a stunning location and with an impressive selection of artists, Art Monaco is one for art lovers from across the world.
