Serene Khan’s day-to-day practice is centred on concept-led still life and interior photography. As a Set Designer and Creative Director, she works for both advertising and editorial clients, experimenting with shape and balance through creative briefs.
Khan’s focus is on narrative, telling stories through composition and the tangibility of objects. Playing with light, texture and colour, each compilation creates a microcosm of visual language.
Geometric objects lay seemingly abandoned on the floor; cling wrap wraps around chairs almost claustrophobically. Her varied series – such as Chairs in Conversationand Green– reimagine furniture in an anthropomorphic way, giving them agency and a certain sense of persona.
