Offering platforms for discovery, conversation and collaboration, art fairs bring together inspirational works whilst revealing industry insights. Aesthetica highlights five key events opening in 2018.

Artissima, Turin
Artissima, a fair renowned for its focus on experimental practices, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. New for 2018, the Sound section focuses on aural research and sonic artworks, whilst Present Future celebrates the next generation of artists.  2-4 November

 

 

FIAC, Paris
Returning for its 45th year and featuring major galleries such as Hauser & Wirth, London, and Paul Kasmin, New York, FIAC presents a renowned selection of art and design. Taking place within Paris’ historic Grand Palais, it is a celebration of creative development. 18-21 October

 

Art Toronto
Combining a diverse exhibition programme with a series of talks and lectures, Canada’s international art fair is an arena for cultural exchange and debate. Now in its 19th year, Art Toronto welcomes over 100 exhibitors. 26-29 October.

Affordable Art Fair, New York
Providing an alternative, forward-thinking model, this fair focuses on accessibility, offering audiences inexpensive options whilst engaging with contemporary trends. The collection comprises painting, sculpture and photography from over 70 galleries. 27-30 September

Frieze London
Responding to key contemporary issues – from representation in the arts to notions of surveillance – the 16th edition of Frieze London takes a responsive approach, addressing timely themes through imaginative presentations.  5-7 October.
