Barcelona-based photographer Txema Yeste’s (b. 1972) first solo exhibition opens at Staley-Wise Gallery, New York. The artist is interested in capturing vibrant traditional Spanish costume, expanding the boundaries of fashion imagery by utilising a background in photojournalism. This unique approach informs bold compositions rich in colour, history and narrative.

Inspired by music, cinema and the wider visual arts, the works conjure a world of powerful characters navigating surreal and expansive desert landscapes. Yeste has worked on advertising campaigns for Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Lancôme, and Yves Saint Laurent, and has been published in international editions of VOGUE, Vanity Fair, and Numéro amongst others,
