Cowboy Genes was shortlisted for the 2019 Aesthetica Creative Writing Award. Her writing has appeared in literary journals and anthologies in New Zealand, Australia and the UK including Best New Zealand Poems, Magma and Australian Poetry Journal. Accolades include The London Magazine Poetry Prize, The Troubadour Poetry Prize, and commended in the Poetry London Prize. In 2021 she was shortlisted for the NZSA Laura Solomon Cuba Press Prize.
