Veronika Krämer is an artist living in Berlin. Her abstract geometric paintings explore how simple
lines and shapes can combine to produce complex constructs. The process behind her latest series, Construction, is not only about building, but it is also about letting go. Existing shapes and colours disappear and new possibilities and compositions come to the surface with each layer of paint Krämer adds. Lines collide, overlap, merge and vanish. Sometimes, large parts of the canvas are completely covered, leaving only a few strokes visible and some hazy geometric arrangements shining through – a hint of what was there before.
