In 2018, Swinburne won the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award for her fiction. Afterwards she gained 3^rd price at the Bridgend Writers Circle Competition and was shortlisted for the Writers Bureau Short Story Competition. Most recently, she has written fiction for award-winning, literary journal Lunate. In 2021, Swinburne was shortlisted by Silver Apples Magazine Issue 16 for At least remember. She has three novels in various stages of completion.
