Constructive Art vs. Functional Arch II (2021)
Ulf König’s expansive project Architecture Criticism offers an unorthodox and provocative view onto cityscapes and buildings. Traditional methods of photography, sculpture and architecture are questioned. Architectural photographs have been over-sculpted by multi-angular wooden strips or blocks, using a minimalist colour scheme. The final reliefs deconstruct notions of both architecture and photography, allowing viewers plenty of space for ambiguous contemplation, stimulating the senses whilst encouraging a discovery of fascinating symmetries and aesthetics.
