Mundane objects that are encountered every day are at the heart of Jeong’s practice. The objects are often unseen, and their unique function is often not recognised. The essence of an object is distilled into a representation that also happens to look like a post-painterly abstract painting. The paintings act as meta-layers to jog the viewers’ own memories of the subject matter.
