Seph Li’s Ink series blends advanced digital technology with tropes from traditional Chinese culture, abstracting visual elements from landscape ink paintings and turning them into something altogether different. In the process, Li searches for dynamic equilibriums that cross boundaries between nature and traditional culture, re-imagining these modes through contemporary interactive systems. Dynamic fluids, flocking fishes and physics hypotheses are just some of the concepts that serves as entry points for Seph’s abstract artworks. In these intuitive systems, visitors are invited to co-create generative content along with algorithmic code.
