Malus and Caput Mortuum
Malus means both “bad, evil” and “apple tree” in Latin. Fontaine-Wolf is interested in the conflicted nature of our societal attitudes towards female sexuality. This series explores the mediated relationship to the body and self-image as experienced in contemporary digitised culture. Caput Mortuum was created in June 2020. The work was influenced by the previous months of solitude during Covid 19 lockdown.
