Woolscape – Our Twisted Hero
Our Twisted Hero is a South Korean novel written by Yi Munyol (1987). The text is a political allegory of Korea’s transition from dictatorship to democracy, threaded with themes of totalitarianism and intellectual oppression. Jae Young Park draws upon the form of the novel through Woolscape – a record of everyday life told through a series of lines. Through the piece, Park asks questions about the many people connected to each other in society.
