Constructed Silence
Henk Schut is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose ideas derive from posing questions about contemporary environments, communities, historical events and current affairs. With each project he looks for the most suitable form in which to express his ideas, moving between media seamlessly as it adheres to the subject matter in a symbiotic relationship. His work often contains a certain amount of playfulness – without trivialising the subject, but in a way that reinforces its explanatory power. Multi-channel sound design, with specifically designed software, provokes the imagination of the audience, who become the protagonists in each installation.
