Into the Ether asks viewers to consider the concept of duality throughout the natural world – the perceived binaries that exist in both organic and manmade territories. Gaia Ozwyn takes inspiration from both earthly and ethereal landscapes, creating a unique contrast between beauty and cruelty, clarity and obscurity, evoking the distinct, and somewhat ironic, feeling of loneliness with nature, despite its all-encompassing and universal presence. The relationship, and combined conflict between art and science, is a recurring theme in Ozwyn’s work, whilst maintaining a distant sense of calm through the choice of tone and minimalistic composition.
