Derek Johnson & Luke Smithers

Fragile Machines cycles through seasons, space, the bodies of women and water with the fluidity and rapidity of panicked memory. Evolved over the course of two years, it questions the extent in which our seemingly-innermost desires – most notably, our longing for human contact – is stilted. Three international artists working in wearable sculpture were commissioned to create projects that blur the line between the organic and the inorganic.
