Daniel Tollady

Urban Archive: Folkestone

Daniel Tollady is an artist and educator interested in acts of walking, archiving, intuitive drawing and structural assemblage, using these processes to understand urban and rural environments and the communities that inhabit them. He has, over the years, worked collaboratively with different organisations and groups to develop installations from domestic donations. He has swapped railroad ballasts for objects in people’s pockets; made inflatable architecture in memorial gardens; handed out 500 make-your-own-kaleidoscope kits in two days. He has also walked for miles to understand the varying conditions along the East Kent coast.
