Spain-based Annabel Andrews harnesses paint to capture the essence of objects, live models and landscapes. She notes: “The first steps in painting took me out to copy landscapes, ignoring that the future work would little by little show the structures, geometries, repetitions, etc. found in the natural world, using the mysterious idealised concepts as in mathematics. Over the years this became more apparent – making the work minimalist, abstract colour fields.”
