Mapping data over time and revealing the information systems underlying contemporary life is the aim of Anna Madeleine’s practice. In Currents, she reminds the viewer of the tactile, physical infrastructure which actually underlies the internet, which, though seen as something “virtual” and “wireless”, is reliant upon a global network of underwater cabling.
