There is evidence the evolutionary survival system incentivises – with pleasure rewards – the processing of visual information to delineate a figure from the background of noisy environments. system II plays with this theory by disrupting and reducing the information our system processes as it forms a reality and this can momentarily stimulate aesthetic or emotional judgment.
