Olivia King’s work is inspired by vivid dreams and how they feed into everyday life. She works across various media, predominantly involving prints, photography, paintings and collage, all of which display vibrant colours and symmetry. Her prints have been displayed in York Art Gallery’s Project Gallery, as part of the Making a Master piece Bouts and Beyond, where she was an artist-in-resident. Her projects explore the everyday and the mundane, taking inspiration from discarded items, rubbish and leftover materials from the process of creating art. She uses unconventional household materials such as glass cleaner, making the ordinary into something rather extraordinary.
