Irving Penn, Personal Work, Pace Gallery, New York

Widely recognised as one of the most prolific and respected photographers of the 20th century, Irving Penn (1917–2009) worked on assignment for The New Yorker, Vogue, and Vanity Fair, and shot advertising campaigns for Clinique and De Beers, among others.  This winter, Pace and Pace/MacGill Gallery presents Personal Work, an intimate collection of images from Penn’s extensive oeuvre. Much of his work can be found in museum collections worldwide, including the Art Institute of Chicago; Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and more.
