Annabel Scott is an illustrator who is living and working in the North East of England. Her practice demonstrates the way that urban and cultural areas affect the way art is viewed. She takes great inspiration from popular culture and everyday chores in her environment, and the result is work that is interdisciplinary. You can find her either with her digital and film camera or with a pencil in her hand. Materials are versatile, and she does not prefer one technique over the other, invention and continuous development play a large part in the resulting work. She mostly likes to leave the theme of her work up to the audience, unless it is essential to the artwork that the viewer has a wider meaning and understanding of this process. However, themes have now evolved to have a strong current of popular culture and a home-based environment of the past.
