Can Shui is a Chinese visual artist and educator. Greeting From Strangers comprises twelve photographs, each recording a month in one year. In the series, photography combines with other materials: collage, design, painting and documentary. The calendar-like artwork explores how people often use a different face to deal with their family, friends, colleagues, parents, even enemies. It reveals the contradiction, pretence, vanity, hypocrisy and neuroses of human beings.
