Within contemporary society our clothing can become the barriers between us and the environment. This is the first thing that you see when you meet someone. Fashion can be a statement. It is a way of life, and it is symbolic of so many facets of society. These garments represent so many things that unite and divide us. For Peña, pleats represent protection: they become armour for the wearer. How we extend or minimise this space between the body and garments is the focus of the collection.
